The course is designed to approach the fundamentals of computer-aided manufacturing first using industrial computers but more importantly with intelligent computing technologies such as computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM), industrial cognitive computing (ICC), and artificial intelligence (AI). The course provides knowledge-based education and the capability to apply the concepts and information to solve engineering or manufacturing problems. Teaching of this course incorporates the use of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and other innovative teaching technologies.
The course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of simulation in industrial engineering/technology and more specifically to the tools available for the purpose of simulation. It introduces the design of computer-controlled manufacturing systems and process simulation using block diagrams and block scheduling. The software tools and the databases used for solid modeling, topology optimization, and real-time simulation are also introduced. 7211a4ac4a
