The streets of Baghdad teemed with people peacefully protesting the US-led invasion of Iraq when a man walked through the crowd, strapped a bomb to his body and detonated it, killing at least 11 people and injuring more than 40, the Washington Post reported.
"I saw a bomb explode as people were running away," said one witness who was at the scene, adding that the bomb was followed by more explosions, although it is unclear if they were caused by the initial blast.
A total of 101 people died and 138 were wounded during the March 2003 US-led invasion, which toppled then-President Saddam Hussein's regime.
