This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to childhood psychopathology and clinical diagnoses. Students will learn to recognize and conceptualize developmental psychopathology. The course will cover research regarding effective treatment.
This course will provide the opportunity to work on research study while examining a variety of topics and concepts in the world of neuroscience including the brain, early development, the genetics of behavior as well as the effect of pharmacology on the brain. Students will be able to use their coursework to work on an independent research project and later present their findings at the end of the semester. Laboratory time is spent weekly where students will form research teams to complete a single study.
The course is designed to provide students with a general overview of criminology while deepening the knowledge and skills of their major. Students will be able to examine a variety of topics including criminal organizations, profiling, risk, victimology, and psychology.
This course will provide students with an introduction to the field of mental health, as well as a framework of child and adolescent development and the processes at work during the mental health field. Students will have an opportunity to choose a specific mental health focus subject area to study such as behavior disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, behavioral disorders, traumatic brain injuries, caregiver stress or their own area of interest in mental health. d2c66b5586
