General requirements:Pentium III compatible processor, 100MB free space on the hard drive. USB flash drive (prefered USB pendrive size is 16GB), keyboard. Compatibile BIOS version. Windows system is required for installer to run. USB flash drive is required for the UEFI version to work. Internet connection is required for the installer to work. Kon-boot can be only installed by using the original installer. One kon-boot license permits the user to install kon-boot on only one USB device (USB pendrive).
Not supported:Disk encryption, secure boot must be disabled., tablets and tablet hybrids, multiple operating systems installed on target computer, 3rd party loaders are supported, kernel debuggers, virtualization software (VMware, QEMU, VirtualBox) is not supported. CD and Floppy versions are deprecated.
Since version 2.7 kon-boot CD version is no longer available. We have left the old .iso images just for compatibility purposes. All versions starting from kon-boot 2.7 can be installed only on USB media.
Important:Since kon-boot 2.7 there is a new feature present called automatic powershell script execution. This feature is present only in COMMERCIAL LICENSES (UEFI mode only (Windows 8 x64 / Windows 10 x64)).
Since version 2.7 kon-boot can be installed only by using our GUI installer. Internet connecton is required for installer to work. Powershell script of user choice is being run with full system rights. This gives excellent and very powerful opportunity for the forensics team to gather all the necessary data from the target system. Right now the feature works only in UEFI mode and on Windows 8 / Windows 10 systems (x64).
Personal licenses does not offer online authorization bypass on Windows 10 systems. However user can still access the system as local administrator. In fact in the kon-boot v2.5 administrator account can be added automatically, as presented in the following scenario:
If you account is an online (live) Windows 10 account and you have a commercial Kon-Boot license (commercial kon-boot licenses allow to bypass Windows 10 online/live passwords (UEFI)) you can bypass the Windows HELLO authorization as well.
Please note: You may only see this screen when you are booting from external media ie. Kon-Boot USB. This is because of the TPM chip (Trusted Platform Module) which will detect changes to the system boot sequence. This will lead to change in the TPM's PCR values, and in the result TPM will not unseal the VMK (Volume Master Key).
Kon-Boot (aka konboot, kon boot) is a software utility that allows users to bypass Microsoft Windows passwords and Apple macOS passwords (Linux support has been deprecated) without lasting or persistent changes to system on which it is executed. It is also the first reported tool capable of bypassing Windows 10 online (live) passwords and supporting both Windows and macOS systems. It is also a widely used tool in computer security, especially in penetration testing. Since version 3.5 Kon-Boot is also able to bypass SecureBoot feature.
Kon-Boot works like a bootkit (thus it also often creates false positive alerts in antivirus software). It injects (hides) itself into BIOS memory. Kon-Boot modifies the kernel code on the fly (runtime), temporarily changing the code responsible for verification user's authorization data while the operating system loads.
In contrast to password reset tools like CHNTPW (The Offline NT Password Editor), Kon-Boot does not modify system files and SAM hive, all changes are temporary and they disappear after system reboots.
Step 2 After burning, insert it into locked windows device, then press F12 or ESC to enter bios menu for most device, follow the on-screen instructions to enter it. After enter it, using arrow key to select boot tab and boot device priority to set your bootable USB/CD/DVD, and press F10 to save and exit.
Kon-Boot is one of the best tools around which can log you into Windows without knowing the password. It works by hooking into the system BIOS and temporarily changing the contents of the Windows kernel while booting. It then allows you to enter anything as the password during login. The next time you start the computer without Kon-Boot, the original password will be back, the temporary changes will be discarded and the system will behave as if nothing has happened.
After you Download Kon-Boot Free and write it onto CD or USB, simply boot your computer to that device (you will need to set the boot device in the BIOS) and a white screen will popup. Press any key and a black screen will popup showing the process of hooking BIOS functions (the version number 1.0 appears to be an oversight by the developer). After a few more seconds the computer will start to boot normally.
I downloaded KON-BOOT CD-konboot-v1.1-2in1.iso and went into BIOS selected kon-boot driver, no white screen pops up just a black screen and cannot push any buttons for it to run but can return to BIOS. Help!?
Easy2Boot (E2B) is popular multiboot USB solution that also contains agFM and Ventoy. It supports both Legacy and UEFI.Simply copy on your bootable ISO files to the E2B USB drive and boot! Offline NT Password and Registry Editor is a famous windows password cracker tool, famous for windows 11 change password, and it is available free to use for all. It comes under the Freeware category and can break easy passwords for users. Below we will explain how to download and use it.
Kon Boot, the free of cost tool comes into the arena when all the other password resetting tools fail to deliver. It enables you to login to any password protected system without knowing the password. What actually happens is that it changes the content of Windows kernel during booting. All of this is done virtually and there is no physical system changes. Note that if you like to recover specific application passwords like winrar file then Download WinRAR password recovery.
The application is very easy to use. All you need to do is to download the free ISO file and burn it to the CD. Now boot from the disc and you will be all set to be back into the Windows within no time. The ISO image file size is also very small compared to the other tools providing the same services.
I was pretty amazed with this program. The screenshots above is literally all you see, and within a minute it brings you to the login screen and bypasses the user password. Totally came in handy recently for a laptop I was working on in which I of course forgot to get the user password. This is even better because no passwords were exchanged and it reverts back to normal after a reboot.
I have downloaded the ZIP file from the link abov: -boot/and I cant seem to get it to work do you go all the way through the files and download just the ISO or image file and boot from the CD? its not working?
If you open the Kon-Boot ISO file with a supported archiver such as 7-Zip or PowerArchiver, you will see a [BOOT] folder with a file called Bootable_1.44M.img. This would mean that the author of Kon-Boot created a bootable CD ISO image from a bootable floppy. So in order to create a bootable Kon Boot USB, the trick is to use the floppy image instead of the ISO file. Here are 6 different ways to create a Kon Boot USB and hopefully one of the methods below will work for you.
There are quite a number of tools to assist in creating bootable USB drives but UNetbootin is the only one that supports floppy images rather than just ISO. First insert the USB flash drive that you want to install Kon-Boot and format it as FAT32 file system. Then download UNetbootin from the link below and run it. Select the Diskimage radio button, click the drop down menu and select Floppy. 2b1af7f3a8
