Edgar had a great set of tape edited recordings and I was lucky enough to get a hold of them. With the help of Steve Craft, we applied and tweaked EQ and compression on almost every drum machine hit, tape reverb, and decay. The basic drum machine tuning was also adjusted to give it the 909 feel. Unfortunately, due to the processing and compression there was little room for the gritty tape artifacting, so we made some of our own tape fall-off samples.

The basic drum machine tuning was set to 3/4, 1/4, and 3/8. A collection of close mic, room, and bass EQ'ed samples are included. The tape buss is set to a nice high gain setting and the tape reverb was added to drums and other parts. All samples are 24 bit high quality WAV format. All levels are individual and samples are normalized.
This pack is an archive of music made in the 1990s. It was made with much love and with only one goal in mind: to make music, and to share it with other musicians and producers from around the world.
The 909 is a great sounding machine, and even though there are almost no 909 sounds with the processing I've given this one, it still sounds great. Of course, I'm a known purist, so I have made sure to cleanse the drum machine sounds to bare bone. All the original sounds have been recorded with four mic positions, and heavily processed, and most have been retuned to their factory settings.
The drum machine sounds are available in both 24 bit and 16 bit WAV format. Also included is a single stereo mix mastered at -11 dB. No other processing has been done other than what is mentioned above, so if you wish to use other devices, filters, or effects to shape and process the sounds, you can do so without fear of it affecting the sound of the 909.
